Just a heads-up that Martin Cilia is featured in a great 6 page article, by Pete Prown, in this month's in the current Vintage Guitar Magazine (April 2020. Vol 34 No. 6). Much of the article consists of fairly large photos of his instruments, and his Vox AC15.
This issue also has an "in Memoriam" article for Bo Winberg, co-founder, and guitarist of the Spotnicks. He passed away in January at age 80. I had not heard that he had passed. RIP Bo.
In addition, the issue has a brief Dan Forte review of "Dead Men Don't Surf" in the "Extra" album review section. Dan also did a review of Hershel Yatovitz's "Narrabeen" instrumental solo album, and an article on Freddy King. Hershel is the lead guitarist for Chris Isaak and Silvertone, having replaced James Calvin Wilsey, when Jimmy left the band. Despite his album, "Freddy King Goes Surfin'", Freddy was never a surf guitarist. That said, many of his crossover instrumentals are classics, and have been played by surf bands, and many bands of other genres.

Synchro, I couldn't agree more! Great songs, great tone, great command of the instrument, tremendous vocals (when he sang), and he had that burning passion that came-out through the music. He was the whole package. We lost him way too soon.

It should also be mentioned that the fellow on the cover, Marcus King, is one of the smokinest, most tasteful guitar players alive right now. Anyone not familiar with him and willing to step outside the realm of surf should go look him up. Check out his version of "This Old Cowboy" and also this gem:

To each his own.. but "total snoozers" here. Jazz fusion never was my cup of tea. I had to quit 1/3 through. Lots of "gnat notes" and not much in the way of melody.
