Without further information, I don't believe that Jon Martin played in the same Scott Engel band. In other words, more than one Newporters. I've always been under the assumption that The Newporters on Scotchtown was a one-off Engel/Young studio effort. I also don't believe THAT band ever played gigs. I remain unconvinced that the two Newporters are one and the same without more information.
