You are correct, 5/11 is the dubious anniversary. The fact it was on Mother's day serves as a double wammy. I made it by the cemetary just before sundown on thursday. Storm clouds were breaking up making for a pastel of blue sky with gold and orange hues tracing puffs of black clouds and a chill in the air. You couldn't have scripted anything more appropriate. 027 - Never to be forgotten... 023 |

I recently saw comic Ron White on the Comedy Channel. He has a one-hour special on there called "You Can't Fix Stupid!". It's absolutely hillarious, and I highly recommend it if you get a chance to catch it. The reason why I bring him up is cause the guy really reminded me of Rip! He's got a very similiar hairstyle and facial features, he had a stogey in his mouth and was sipping scotch during his act, and the sense of humor is very similar, too. And guy is from the south, too! Anyway, I thought I'd bring that up. If you want to know what it was like hanging out with Rip, check out Ron White. (I bet Spanky will be like, "man, that guy is NOTHING like Rip!" ) Ivan —Ivan |

This is one of my all-time favorite Rip Thrillby "products." Only he could take an evening at Trader Vics--granted he was helping to host Tura Satana and Hadji as part of the Starlight Drive-In's Mondo Movie Night featuring Faster Pussycat, Kill, Kill!!--and then use his spare time just to conjure up a comic book type story purely for the entertainment of himself and a few friends. For those who haven't seen it, enjoy, and remember Rip at his best!! |

Our thoughts are with Spanky and The Penetrators family on this anniversary. It has been 4 years. To Rip! —Site dude - S3 Agent #202 "It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea |

I am with ya B. I truly owe this whole wonderful experience to Rip. The AcoustaSonics played a tribute to THE MAN the other night at Trader Vics. Sticks had come by to hang out and I think we were all moved by the moment.......ed —Traditional........speak softly and play through a big blonde amp. Did I mention that I still like big blonde amps? |

Hey everyone, If you miss Rip, please visit his gravesite and leave a note. I think his headstone is very cool and beautiful. (You do have to join up to leave a note). http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=7478065 |

Rip used to email me his Shallow End emails and they just made my day. His humor and talent and zest for life made him quite a force of nature. One thing I must say for both Rip and Spanky is that after meeting their parents at Rip's funeral in Huntsville, I was just blown away with what a great influence they must have been on both Rip and Spanky. Even while dealing with the incredible loss of their son, they were gracious and caring enough to comfort my sense of loss. God bless them for raising two great men and God bless the spirit and legacy of Rip. —Ron (ToneBoy) |

I used to be a member of this site when it was still a Yahoo! Group, I remember hearing a lot about about Rip, my only regret was never meeting him, Rest In Peace Buddy.... —"If Everyone In America Gave A Homless Guy A Dollar Dbl Cheeseburger, The World Would Be A Better Place." |
