Just did a quick run through on Penetration while I was waiting for some documents to print. I've been busy with work and the family life; so It's been tough trying to find time to play. |

I'm now working on Three 30 Blues by Duane Eddy, I have the Duane Eddy Hal Leonard tab book and am putting my ten-year old Tascam CD GT-1 to use slowing down the first disc from my fabulous Duane Eddy three (3) CD disc set. Last edited: Jun 22, 2017 18:59:44 |

"Exotic" by THEE Original Surfaris. All worked out, just ramping up to the frenetic pace at which they play it. Almost there! —Everybody up! |

Been discovering and playing some fun little gems lately. Nothing challenging or fast/tricky, really. But fun, dance-y things to add to the repertoire (that most folks have probably never heard). Trying to discover these lesser-known tunes and work them in. They're fresh and nobody's burned out on hearing (or playing) them. I'm on Apple Music, so it's been great to discover all these things in recent months. They have several of those nice compilations ("Lost Legends of Surf Guitar", etc.) and I'm hearing/learning a lot of new (to me) stuff. Well this is not my latest but I'm going CRAZY that no one will really hear this for another couple of years. Original by Straylight Run, Emo band but this is a really good song despite that. Anyways. Picture from some free picture site. No expense has been spared. Try to give it a full listen. The piano intro is slow but necessary to hook fans of the original "Existentialism on Prom Night". —Da Vinci Flinglestein, The Syndicate of Surf on YouTube http://www.syndicateofsurf.com/ Last edited: Jun 26, 2017 11:09:41 |

Exactly what I was going for! Especially happy with the big ending. Guitars: Eastwood Sidejack Baritone for the melody with Dano 64' doing the lead. I stacked em both up at the end. And I got to use my Mel 9 mellotron pedal; for that ethereal tone. Da Vinci Flinglestein, The Syndicate of Surf on YouTube |

Reoovering from 3 days of casting for bass & getting the wrist & fingers back. Playing - cleanly - along with the Walk Don't Run/Perfidia/Lullaby of the Leaves medley The Surge! does on their terrific In Search of Retro album. Emphasis on clean; Eddie K is a great bar to shoot for. (There should be a companion album of Play Along with The Surge! or something. ) —Wes DISCLAIMER: The above is opinion/suggestion only & should not be used for mission planning/navigation, tweaking of instruments, beverage selection, or wardrobe choices. |

Hey, Wes!- I recorded drums-only backing tracks for 2/3 of those. Over in the "Downloads" section. So you could play along with The Dickster! —*Dick B. Last edited: Jun 27, 2017 19:42:40 |

Thanks Dick for the reminder. Those make a great medley. Now to continue the search for some more folks up here in Cranberry country. Transylvanian Orbit / Richochet. Stumbled onto Mike's (morphball) cover of this great classic from Ivan and realized I hadn't paid much attention to the Strat lately. Plus, with wife putting pennies in a slot for the afternoon I get to turn the amp up where it's working for a living. (Mike, if you see this I sent you a PM.) Transylvanian Orbit / Richochet is one of my favorites to play (and listen to)! I just learned it this last year and it was well worth the effort! I wish I could say it was all by ear but I ended up cheating with the tabs and Mike's great video. —-John The Seatopians 2017- |
