It's not exactly surf related. But I got this acoustic kit off of ebay for $99. And if I like the results with this one, I'm planning on doing a second one to donate to a silent auction at my church this fall.

Last night I glued this fingerboard onto a neck blank I had partially cut out a while back and today I shaped the neck contour with rasp, scraper and sand paper.
I installed the position marker dots and side dots and then quit.
This is before the dots were installed.

This is my plan: a do it all surf amp for home quiet use. I'm going to build an enclosure for a speaker, the surfy bear fet-verb, the surfy bear trem, a PAM8610 amplifier, a 12v power supply to run it all and hopefully make it light. I'm undecided on the size of speaker to use. There's people on ebay using 12" speakers and they sound good. That seems overkill to me. The WGS ET65 is mentioned. Would there be a Weber that some of you have used that would be a good fit? This is at 10 watt power level. One person used a signal booster. Is there a small board that anyone uses that would run on the same 12v power? I'm daydreaming about using a shorter multi spring tank to cut down on space requirements. I'm open to your thoughts.

I use and like what I believe is an import version of a Weber Ceramic Signature 8 speaker, 8". It looks the same as the photo of that Weber speaker (at https://www.tedweber.com/8sigf ) . The speaker I have says 8C10W on the back but does not say Weber or any brand. (I bought used on Ebay and use it in a small Vox Pathfinder 15R combo amp)

I think a single 10" would be plenty for what you want to do. You might want one that has plenty of tight bottom w/o messing around with some ported cabinet or something; I mention that because the little 10" I have in my Vox AC10 is killer, BUT, it's a mostly closed-back, ported at the bottom cabinet.

Along with good midrange & plenty of support in the highs without being spikey, I really like the Jensen Falcon 40. My experience with them (2 in my Vibrolux Reverb) are that you can get the character out of it without having to drive it hard. (They're also cheaper than an ET65 & I think a 12" is probably overkill for your concept anyway.)

It's a neat idea you have. Key is to resist it looking like a gov't project where it gains too much weight & comes in over budget.
