Unleashed was one of the first 3 surf CDs I ever bought and it is so great. Cool that he talked to you.

The Royal Aces are currently working on "The Palomino" by the Fathoms, and hope to bust it out at our next gig this Friday, Jan. 16. Unfortunately, we will not have a trumpet player to lay in those nice Herb Alpert licks that are in the Fathoms version!

Well maybe you just ran out of new music to listen to and so you might want to go to the DOWNLOADS section of SG101 and click on my latest tune called "Kids Love DEER PARK!".

It is instro but not quite surf. It is nostalgic and happy and both Noel and Jeff stuck their big ol collective thumbs up in the air when they heard it. Special thanks to Noel for his feedback which pushed me to make some needed edits.

Fingers in your ears,

I simply work on a new song.
The title is "I wanna be your dog in Berkeley".

Twang cheers!

I have been down in the "Boatwerx" trying to finish up track #11 ("Deflector Shield") for our work in-progress CD. Currently taking a dinner break to refresh the ears.

Hope to have this one in "the can" by this evening.

Three more tracks to record. Looks like we are actually on schedule to have the recording done by the end of February.

Fingers are crossed and at this point we are still speaking to each other. Amazing.

Reverbs!

Traditional........speak softly and play through a big blonde amp. Did I mention that I still like big blonde amps?

Hey guys, I am working on "Latin'ia" by The Sentinals right now, and am stuck after 1:57. The tab from this site helped me, but I don't think it's entirely accurate. Can someone please help me with the chords/notes? I am not asking you to tab it for me, just need help after the E and the F chords, I am lost. Embarrassed

I am learning to play Surfin' Tragedy by Bob Vaught & The Renegades. Really pretty song, IMO.

Nice Iggy reference! Doing a remake of "No Surf in Cleveland" by the Euclid Beach Band. It was a thing in Ohio late 70's. It Beachy Boyish and I'm gonna hot rod it up.

Working on something original (a first). OMG, this krap is work, but the idea-faerie paid a visit & I've got to dump it or obsess over it.

SSS, did you get any responses RE Latin'ia?
I just did this over one of the b/t's a good member has here on the site.
Shoot me a PM.

Titoli (Fistful of Dollars) as arranged by Bradipos IV. Combination of Danny's (accurate) assessment of the song, plus I'm building a fuzz next month, and I need a cheap bass that'll probably come home tomorrow, and I'm laying in my own drum tracks....
Duh

Morricone isn't like going down a rabbit-hole; it's like the whole warren. But learning alot and it's fun.

Working on a new original by our git player. He is foolish enough to allow me latitude. Heh heh heh! It goes well.

Original called 'Lost in the Prehistoric Forest'. Need to add some animal/bird noises and misc goofy effects.

I'm in a student ensemble and we're currently learning Fugitive. That tune really works better with the hound dogs between verses, so we're brainstorming a way to play that back live (and on the cheap, probably using a cell phone).

Also we're working out a couple Atlantics tunes - Night Star and Reef Break.

Badger - fuzz from a kit ( if so which one) or one from your parts bin?

I am not obsolete, I am RETRO.... Cool

Probably a kit from GGG of the Mosrite Fuzzrite.

Wes, good luck with that Fuzzrite clone.
Alex, our bass player is getting ready to build a few fuzz pedals including a fuzzrite.

Jeff

Thanks Jeff, knew for awhile I wanted one. Many times I'd be dinking around with an OD I have (which is good in its role), but wishing it was a true fuzz like from when I was a kid, which I'd use more. So it's gonna be "fun" time.

Wes,
My first stomp box was a Big Muff and I hated it. Took it back and got a Ross distortion. I never pursued fuzz pedals again even though I was a huge Hendrix fan until I got back into Surf/Instro and started my band.
Now I've always got one ear open to fuzz pedals.
O.k. That's my last topic digression for now, LOL.

Cheers,
Jeff

Nocturne, Seltzerado! Cause any other Fuzz at your door is probably just the cops.

Besides working on the case for the aforementioned fuzz pedal, gonna tackle Red Sunrise. I have some fresh picks and they who are about to be sacrificed salute you.
Cheers
