my wife and i have had a Christmas band, Yuletide Fondue, since before we even started dating. Here's a cover of the Ventures, "We Wish you a Merry Christmas". It's pretty much note for note, but all in good fun.

The Royal Aces will be playing "Jingle Bell Rock" at our Christmas season gigs, but haven't recorded it...we should get on that.

Atomic Mosquitos never recorded a holiday song but I did write one for a local children's hospital CD just a year before we got together. It's just me and my love of elves!

The Apollo Four just released an original 2014 tune for the B side of a split Holiday 7" single entitled "Jupiter Jingle".
Digital downloads, and advance sales for the single (on colored vinyl w/ instant digital download included) are available on Bandcamp here:

I just finished recording Silent Night
https://soundcloud.com/chris-vee-1/silent-night
It's the first recording i've posted. I wanted to learn how to use Garage Band, so i chose this song in the spirit of the holidays to start with.
The cover art is a painting my 4 year old did last year and i thought it would make a nice cover
The arrangement is pretty straight forward. I played with a few ideas but this is what i ended up with... mistakes and all! I will probably go back and remix / master it a bit more... i didn't spend any time doing that yet.

Cool stuff we really ought to put a holiday comp together. My all time fave is still Chet Atkins Christmas album. Electric guitar on side A and classical guitar on side B.
Been playing his version of "Jingle Bell Rock" and "Winter Wonderland" every year since the late sixties. I sure can't come close to matching his performance but I love his arrangements and approach.
I've even thought about dropping some of those Gretsch "amazingtron" pickups into my 355. Best of both worlds.

Probably more old spaghetti western than surf, what I visualized when taking this to my buddy's studio in nashville were Cowboys driving cattle on the beach at midnight in a bad 60s western. This is We Three Kings from my Xmas EP.

Hey Tavo, i used my TVL Jazzmaster for all the guitars. Basically 3 guitar tracks. 1. middle position with a Nocturne Dyno Brain, Nocturne NailHead Tremolo, Corbon Copy delay. 2. bridge position, Nocturne Billy Brain, Nocturne NailHead Tremolo, Corbon Copy delay. 3. Middle position Nocturne Billy Brain, Corbon Copy delay. Also a boss '63 fender reverb on those tracks. The pre amps were set just a touch over unity, just enough to bring the guitars to life. The bass is a Mustang RI CIJ.
Tavo i like your holiday song a lot. As with the rest of your music, really good stuff!
There are a lot of great songs posted in this thread... really enjoyable listening!

oh ya... guitar and bass into a Mustang I amp. USB direct into a Mac Book Pro / Garage Band. No Garage Band effects were used. just volume and pan adjustments

We've been asked this week by a local radio station to come up with a holiday song or two, but we only have until sunday to submit it which leaves us with tomorrow only to arrange and record/mix/master
We'll see........I've got a couple ideas but nothing that's got me excited
Cheers,
Jeff
