Permalink My version of SLEEPWALK (Santo & Johnny style) - Video

New Topic

Hi All,

I tried to play Sleepwalk as close to the original (Santo & Johnny - 1959)
as I could. It's hard to emulate a steel guitar with a strat, but I tried also to get a sound and an ambiance close enough.
I hope you like it despite the mistakes and a clumsy ending.
Don't pay attention to the background, it's a guitar version
from which I reduced the lead.

Got TABS??

Hi Johny,

Unfortunately, I don't know how to read or write tabs.
I just play by ear.

Regards,
Abdel

Good ear you've got, Abdel. I'd say you did the steel guitar sound pretty well. Thumbs Up

that sounds fantastic! im very impressed. i am going to have to learn how to play sleepwalk that way. i never thought about using the trem arm to mimic the slides. very nice.

Tim

Very nice. Thank you...

Thank you all,

Glad ou liked it.
We had a fantastic time at the Doll Hut Saturday.
All the bands sounded like they never did before.
Such an intimate place. Thank you Jeff forthe email.
Watch those Glascow .... (3 superb musicians) and the Outerwaves ...
who never fail to bring the house down.
I was also impressed with the Neptunes. What an energy producing band,
and the Aquasonics a real treat.
I better retire soon.
I couldn't make it to the Pier on Sunday, but will make up for it.

Blessings to all,
Abdel

THanks for the heads up on the tone at the hut, it was sure hard to tell what was going on!
