Thanks Matt and Jamie! I've received lots of support beyond what you see here as well, so to everyone, everywhere, I express my deepest heartfelt thank you. Your genuine friendships mean more to me than I think I can ever say.
And, Missy is found and on her way back home to us. She'll be at the vet at 1 PM today! Corradina will come home from school to her dog!

If she's smart she'll stay put. She'll get more love in your house than anywhere else.
How do you mend a broken heart? If we can do that, Missy may eventually stop pining for the people who abandoned her, and then she can learn to trust us. Then, she may choose to stay. Otherwise, she'll never truly feel she belongs with us.

How can you stop the sun from shining?
Now for Sunday dinner I was thinking garlic smashed taters with lots of butter. 20lbs of spuds should do...

Noel, do they make GPS ankle bracelets for dogs? Ten in the house would make me nuts. Before you go nuts, get tire chains for the bike and escape for awhile. Best wishes, Bud.

We recovered Missy. I decided not to take the advice we were given previously from the shelter operators, and even from the trappers who caught her, about letting her come to trust us on her own terms. That advice failed once terribly; I wasn't going to try it twice. This time, I kept her on a leash with me all the time, everywhere. In less than a week, if I dropped the leash, she followed me around the house by herself. She still does. She also stays next to me while I play guitar, something she ran from before. Missy is slowly coming to terms with everyone else in the house. She hasn't completely warmed up to Corradina the way Daisy did; but Missy and Cory are getting used to each other. Missy will either let Cory sit next to her, or jump up on the sofa to sit beside her. Corradina just beams when Missy sits next to her.
The Summit has come and gone, and with it three of the most amazing, life-changing days I've ever experienced. I still have a hard time believing so much has happened since I made my first-ever post here (Ouch! So much unbridled enthusiasm. Seems that hasn't changed. ) and then started another thread with this post. Not in my wildest, enthusiastic fantasies could anyone have persuaded me I'd ever have a weekend like at the 2014 Instro Summit.
The people of sg101 are the most amazing, accepting, helpful, supportive generous, and encouraging people I've ever known. Thank you all, everyone!

My son, Henry, is graduating High School on June 13, 2014. It's been a very short thirteen years. Wow!

Thanks, Matt! Your right. I tried to explain to Henry how quickly the time went by, but he has such a different frame of reference. 13/19'ths is a much larger number than 13/62'nds. It seems like a such long time to him; the majority of his life, really. But it seems so brief to me looking back over it now.

Congratulations Noel, our 2nd child graduated yesterday. It's astounding how quickly that day comes. She'll be off to the other end of the state in the fall. It's going to be hard to let her go - the wife and I are coping with it o.k. but her 8 year old brother is really bummed.

Congratulations to Carol on your son's graduation, and to Bill on your daughter's.
This seems appropriate. It's old-fashioned, but then, so am I, actually.

That's a much better problem to have than having him want her gone.

I'll be spending a lot less time on sg101 during the next ten or twelve weeks, starting real soon, probably this Monday. I have a lot of songs to learn this Summer, and three interviews to conduct and write. Plus summertime fatherhood responsibilities to meet. The next three days will probably transition me into increasingly longer absences, but I'll be checking in sporadically when I can. Have a great Summer, everyone! See you soon.

Somewhere on the left in this sea of blue and white, my son is tossing his cap after receiving his High School diploma.
