Permalink Vox phantom VI guitar?

Anybody know anything about these? Found one for sale locally:
Vox phantom VI

All I know is that Dave Wakeling of the English Beat used to sport this guitar.

Science friction burns my fingers.

Paul Revere and the Raiders used to play those in the 60's.
I think the Stones did for a short while, too. I wanted on in
the worst way until I played one. Sad There's a guy making
reissues now at Phantomguitars.com. I suspect that the
reissues are better guitars than the originals.

cool guitar in pretty good shape. It does have one non-original knob though - that black one.

Seems like kind of an outrageous price though. I wouldn't pay more than maybe $800-900 - even that's a lot. You should check eBay for current auctions to compare. These are not great playing guitars. As RobbieReverb mentions, the Phantomguitarworks reissues are much better made...
