Thanks guys! Can't wait to see these great bands one last time (this tour. I hope they come back).

Bump!

The ever-grooving Los Venturas and the mighty El Ray playing tonight! Catch them one last time before Los Venturas move on to the south and El Ray returns to Denmark.

Make sure you get a street hot dog outside the venue. They are killer!

Last night's show was very bitter sweet for me. It was wonderful to see these two bands once again, but very sad that it would be the last time (at least for a while).

A lot of SG101 folks there, despite the show starting at 11pm on a Monday night. Both bands were great (as always) and got the rest of the crowd into it a lot.

I'll post more pics later, but here is one of all the SG101 folks that stayed until the end. A nice "family" shot Cool

Last night was indeed bitter sweet,
like Jonpaul said, it was like saying goodbye at the end of summer camp.

2 more bar gigs for the Los Venturas,
Bar Pink in San Diego tonight, Tues. 8-14,
and Wed. 8-15 at Hensley's Flying Elephant in Carlsbad

then the Car show at Tiki Oasis on Sat. 8-18 from 9 am to 4 pm.
free to the public, in the parking lot at the crown plaza hotel.
San Diego.

I'm so glad that I stuck around for last night's show in Rosemead. The bands were again off-the-hook! (DUH!!!) A last chance to hang-out with everybody was really special. I'll echo the sentiment that it was bittersweet and like the end of summer camp. I think everybody was sad to see El Ray's last gig before their flight home. It was the last hurrah for most of us out-of-towners, too. It was an incredible way to wrap-up a wonderful week of music.

All hail Big Tiki Dude for once again going above and beyond the call to make a lot of people REALLY REALLY happy. Kudos to Craig, Jonpaul, Tina and everybody else who helped Jeff pull this off. A major shout out to all the incredible bands, the sponsors, venues, and of course the surf music family for keeping the flame alive.

Time for me to hit the road back to NorCal. Can't wait for the next one.

Big shout out to
Bob(Robbie Reverb)
(Big Wave) Dave- (Brodaddy)
Rick(Homerhead) from Portland,
and (Tuck) John Koontz
for all hanging out, being hard core,
and going to the Spikes show.

I guess I will be the only one,
Besides the Los Venturas themselves that went to a show every night. except I missed their Dons show, I was at Purple Orchid.

I am feeling better, but still tired.
need to get all my cds and records Warren loaned me,
clothes, PA and DJ gear, and amps all packed up and head down to
the Carlsbad gig, then Tiki Oasis, starts thurs nite.

oooooooooof.
Im too old n out of shape for this.

Does the KFJC live mic count as a pre-show? Here is a post about some photos.

technically yes,
but I didn't list as I figured you didn't want 50 people showing up.
Wink

thanks again for having them Mary
