Danny - the track was Barbacoa - it was played by a Portland band called Guantanamo Baywatch.
Doing a little web searching I see there is a band called Barbacoa from Burlington - we have an old CD of theirs in the KFJC library - so thanks a lot for introducing me to them!

TONIGHT!!! Los Venturas and El Ray live in the PIT!! 6-9PM Pacific. See kfjc.org for information on video streaming.
Temporary outage of internet from KFJC is making me nervous right now - should be restored before tonight. I will, as always, be posting links to the broadcast archives after the show airs.

Update on internet outage at KFJC. Construction crews severed cables so the connection to the Foothill college internet (how our stream leaves the campus) is out. Our resourceful DJ Earl Gray has routed the audio feed through his house!! But all the usual web pages are down and we will not have video streaming.
You will not be able to reach kfjc.org. So to reach the audio stream, go to iTunes and find KFJC under Eclectic. OR use tunein.com, do a search for KFJC, then click on LISTEN. If you listen on your mobile phone, your usual app should work.
Argghhh.

Hey Brian, an IRC listening party would be super deluxe! I can tell you that being there in person to witness the very first notes El Ray ever played on US soil while standing next to Phil Dirt was about as close to a religious surf experience as one can have!!!! I'm still pinching myself!!!!! Wow! Mary was wonderfully gracious and hospitable and the whole thing turned into quite the 'surf party' with the great guys from Los Venturas, The Reefriders, BTD and Josheboy all in the house! Truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience!!! Having breakfast at Ole's now, then it's
straight to Forbidden Island! Yeehaa!

Construction knocked out most of KFJC's internet Saturday morning, although the netcast was recovered in time. The archives were recorded during the live mics of El Ray and Los Venturas and I will be posting links just as soon as they are accessible.
I will NEVER forget this night - I counted 23 (there might have been more) of the nicest people on earth, all at the station. What a party!

I will be really busy this week getting ready for the SG101 convention,
and meeting up with Baja Marty's brother for dinner, and then going to shows for 1 week strait, Hopefully the listening party can wait till the 25th or 26th.
or Go ahead, as I was there and heard it live.
 yeeeehaaaaw. Its been to long since I had been to Nor. Cal.
and a KFJC live show, and When Phil Dirt showed up that made it all the more special.
Thanks again to the Reefriders(Bruce) and Cousin Mary's neighbor for providing the bands the equipment to use.
