Thinking of you every single day, Marty. I take a tiny bit of selfish comfort in thinking that you're our guardian angel up there. I'll be playin' Baja for you tomorrow.

I also keep thinking of that graphic that Marty always had in his mind's eye...it seems more appropriate now than ever.

Marty wanted a Tattoo of that image on his inside forearm.
He never got it, but Jonpaul used it for the Benefit for Marty Flyer.
Marty loved it!

Marty is the best - thanks for the support you gave Outerwave specially at the start. I am just so saddened when BTD sent me an email earlier in day to let me know of our friend's passing. Hope you enjoyed the Dave Clark 5 CD's of all their songs and continue listening to them in between all the surf instrumentals we all are so fond of.

Tony! What's up my man! Long time brutha. We lost a true soldier of Surf. Baja Marty. Lets hook up, tip a few, and tell Baja Marty stories. Maybe at the SG101 Convention? Cheers.

From the What are you listening now thread.
"All Day Long I have been listening to cds from the Baja Marty collection.
Some I had, and hadn't heard in awhile, Richie Allen"german surf comp"
Mermen, "Only you" and "Krill Slippin'"
and stuff I Never found for sale and I finally got now.
Trashmen Box set,
and a CDR of a Live set of the Eliminators by themselves,
and with Eddie Bertrand from the 1st SG101 convention.
I am so glad, and honored to have these great gems, and hard to find
cds, but very sad in the situation that brought them to me.
Bitter Sweet in the most extreme case.
Luv Ya Marty, Miss ya forever,
Thanks for the Great times, and now for your Music treasure.

Damn, every time I see this picture,I start crying.
Such a mix of Sadness and Joy at the same time.
I just hope that Marty was looking down on us at that moment,
with a big grin on his face.

JP said in the SG101 convention thread
"All the bands that day were amazing, but the energy in the room from the very first note the Madeira played was extremely powerful and moving! Marty was definitely there and touching all of our spirits!"
Amen Brutha!!

Last week I heard the Beatles on the radio while driving on PCH in HB,
and it hit me real hard, how much I miss Marty.
(Marty was a Huge Beatles fan, and we'd listen to the Breakfast with the Beatles show on the radio on the way to the HB pier shows)
Chin Up Brutha,
well get thru it together.

I wanna remember him as "Baja Marty", not "Baja Martyr"! We need to start healing Bro! I know it's tough, but your gonna have to let it go before it kills you too!
