Gary Jules/Tears For Fears - Mad World

Cats 'n' Strats, 'cause that's how I roll - I eat reverb for breakfast!

Fenderus Collecticus
Strat Blender Pot Modification HERE

my tune for the compilation

Yellow Jacket

and a non surf song for a class I am taking Brown Eyed Girl.
The group I am taking the class with is finding great amusement in the fact that I am struggling with the non open "cowboy" chords!
But the payback is they are struggling with learning to play sliding double stops.

"Maybe there aren't any surf bands; there's only surf music?" Tuck

Ali Baba! Wanted to play this for ages, and I'm finally getting to it. I've been using some tab (that's been hanging around forever on a bit of paper), Ralf's inspiring YouTube vid, and -- when all else fails -- actually listening to the song. It's hard to beat the old 'First Wave' tunes for sheer playing fun. Big Grin

Checkpoint Echo bass. Mom talking about it made me fire it up for the first time in a while.

Lullaby of the Leaves. Trying to get it up to speed w/o 'tripping', which is what I call missing a note or putting an extra in.

I've always worked on that chord picking progression on Lullaby of the Leaves. It's a great exercise. Sometimes I get it.

The Mystery Men?
El Capitan and The Reluctant Sadists
SSS Agent #31

Yeah, that descending arpeggio run is tripping me up when I try to play it at full tempo. Superfun song to play though.

I'll write it down once I get done. Might be a while. We got 9 months....lets do it. Need to find a drummer and another guitarist. Any ideas?

Will, I despise mp3s: the quality sucks. But I found the album on CD Baby...so I will get a full-fidelity CD version as soon as payday rolls around again.
