Wow! Thanks Danny! I'm going to buy that CD. My daughter will love it. There is this one song when SpongBob is trying to stop Sandy from entering him into the anchor throwing contest, and he can't move because his arm is held down by a glass of juice. She absolutely loves that song, and dances to it. I have a lot of it down now. I just wish I could figure out who plays it. I heard it on the aol free radio, but I don't remember who it was.
Wow, that's my song "Polynesian Adventure" in that scene. I'm glad you like it!

I'm currently working on Surf Rider and Walk Don't Run. I'm going to start working on Bulldog soon. Given my level of playing ability and my talent level, I'm going to be a while working on these.

Danny Amis' fuzzy version of "Challenger" using my Dano French Toast. Drum track is a little challenging.

Working out the wrinkles in Moment of Truth. Apart from being one of my all-time fave surf tunes, this is also the first one I've worked out from end to end entirely by ear. Feels good!

I never practice-I just wait for the Gods to provide inspiration. Works for me.
I wonder how many hours a day Link Wray practiced-hmmmmm?

To the best of my recollection (aided by a database ;-), the original was Dave Myers and the Surftones. A lot of bands have covered it, including:
Thee Andrews Surfers
The Apemen
The Astroglides
The Blue Surf Quartet
The Bomboras
The Dead Rocks
The Eliminators
The Finks
Al Garcia and the Rhythm Kings
The Halibuts
Jon and the Nightriders
The Longboards
The Nightrunners
The Original Surfaris
The Surf Teens
The Surf Trio
The Treblemakers
Urban Surf Kings

Finished figuring out the lead on "Rancho Relaxo". Now on to a Penetrators song. Was working on "Another Time, Another Place", but might start on "Checkpoint Echo". Maybe "Night of the Drunken Cheerleaders".

We're working on surfing up some non-surf tunes to appease the bass player - hey, it's his band, too
We'll include one or more of these on future gigs going more than one set.
I Can't Explain - The Who
I'm Not Your Stepping Stone - The Monkees
The Dangerous Type - The Cars
No Time - The Guess Who
Then I'm going to insist on resuming work on "Black Carnation" by Takeshi Terauchi and the Bunnys, and a couple of my originals which we started on about a year ago and dropped when we got a flurry of gigs.

Wow! Your doing ? I would really love to hear the outcome NoisyDad. I hope more groups will cover Takeshi songs in the future,as his popularity has grown immensely in the last few years in the surf/instro world.Maybe a tribute comp should be in store.

Moon Over Marin by The Dead Kennedys. Replaced the voclas with guitar, but kept the killer riff.

Exodus by The El Caminos. Their version sounds very spaghetti western.
