I have a decision to make on Eddie's Fender Quad Rverb Amp. Leave in the Celestion Vintage 30 G12 speakers that Eddie installed or replace them with the original Fender Oxford speakers that the amp was manufactured with. All speakers are in perfect condition. This is the amp Eddie used for the Rendezvous Reunion 2000. Unknown which speakers were in the amp at that time. Last edited: May 15, 2013 16:15:32 |

I would leave it alone, but that's just me. —IMO. |

I would also leave as is. I'm not a fan of Oxfords in general and if it sound good. leave it alone imo — |

Agreed. Besides, those celestions are nice, and if Eddie preferred them, that's convincing enough for me. —IMO. |

Eddie actually spoke about this amp in his last interview. I think he preferred the sound of the stock speakers but he found the celestions to be a suitable replacement. If it aint broke dont fix it

Eddie would also put in a master volume, gain boost, and re-route his guitars for humbuckers judging by his gear list! Tim, do what you think would be best for you! |

After speaking w/Steve and a few others..yes, as Jake says Eddie tried a lot of different mods w/his gear..he might drill a hole in a pedal so he could move the button to a different spot that would sit better on his board etc. I didn't know but have been told that Eddie had been doing a lot of gritty overdriven type music prior to getting back into the classic surf setup so stands to reason that much of his gear was modded for styles other than surf. —Last edited: May 15, 2013 19:51:11 |

They could probably raise some bucks by removing the strings from his guitars and selling them individually. Personally, I would buy one to make into a bracelet...which I did with a string from the last guitar a late buddy of mine played —Shawn Martin |

Hey guys- Here’s the final list for the first batch of Eddie Bertrand’s guitars, amps, effects and misc. items. Remember, if you want any of these items prior to the guitar show this Saturday, you can still contact me tomorrow ( Friday, May 24th) at my shop in Orange and beat the rush ! Please spread the word, (and the lists) so we can put this gear in the hands of those who will appreciate it, and help Eddie’s family out at the same time. For more information on the guitar show ( directions, hours, etc. ) this Saturday, please see : http://www.cityofangelsguitarshow.com/phone/author/cityofangelsguitarshow The next batch of items will be available in a couple of weeks, and will include mostly recording gear, racks, stands, etc. Hope to see you at the guitar show ! Update: hey jeff- I just revised the eddie bertrand gear lists ( took off the stuff that has been sold, and dropped the prices to reasonable numbers on all the items ) and added list #4 which is rackmount studio gear. can you share it with your people again ? also, if we have a bunch of stuff left by the middle on next month, I may want to take you up on your offer to display at the convention in august. once again, thanks for all your help. if anyone has any questions, I can be reached at the shop : 714 538 0272 or: soestguitar@earthlink.net steve soest. —Jeff(bigtikidude) |
