Wow, that is just lovely- it's hard to pull off an original ANYTHING these days, but you nailed it! (I'm a "cord cutter", but I'm sure I can find a way to check out the show after it airs.)

That was pretty cool Jeff! Got a kick out of the editor's choice of contrasting your working of the wood with some ham-fisted on-camera attempts by one of the guys. At least we didn't have to debate whether the best beer has poly or nitro in it.

That was your new guitar, extant, in the studio during the "brewing" process, yes?

Oh yeah! That was really great. Congrats big time Jeff. Lots of valuable exposure. And such a natural in front of the camera. Now here is the big question.......

What happened to the beer drowned guitar and the "guitar case" carboy?

I have been watching those guys brew beer in odd places for some time and they do often crack me up. Even Mrs Katcher (who has had no interest in my home based brewing efforts with one of my buds) was really focused on the show. She was very interested in the actual brewing process and kept grilling me with technical brewing questions.

Even a nice "cameo" by your flamingo........

Congrats too on your new guitar model. That is pretty slick.

Cheers and bottoms up.

Traditional........speak softly and play through a big blonde amp. Did I mention that I still like big blonde amps?

That was a great episode! Did that band really play nearly eight hours to accomplish the brewing process? If so, the guitar should be nicely broken in. I love the styling on it and the gold/bronze color is killer.

It sounded really good on TV, too. Hopefully this episode will provide some good exposure for Senn Guitars.

One of these days I need to bring my old '64 Zen-On ZES70T (made by Guyatone, I think) to you to see if you can make it playable. It is identical to my original Mariners guitar, has gold foil PU's and sounds really good but the string height is probably a half inch off the fretboard at the lowest possible bridge setting. My first one had the same issue, constant finger bleeding was the result, just as Bryan Adams sang in "Summer of '69". The silver lining was that my dad felt sorry for me and bought me a new Fender Jaguar. Yes, I still have it.

My pal Eddie Katcher advises that if there is anyone on the planet than can make this into a comfortably playable instrument, you are the man.

Or, maybe I should just leave it as a wall hanger and get a new one of those supercool new Senn guitars....hmmmm Smile

Hey Woody........ssssssssh, all Jeff Senn guitars are supercool.

Hey guys,
Thanks for watching the show.
I thought they did a great job on it, shooting, editing etc. and their generosity with product placement and promotion of all involved, the brewery, the hot chicken joint, us, Nashville in general was outstanding.

"That was your new guitar, extant, in the studio during the "brewing" process, yes?"
Wes - Yes it was/is. We had to build as much as possible with the exception of metal parts and glues so that it wouldn't affect the brew.

"What happened to the beer drowned guitar and the "guitar case" carboy?"
Ed - We still have it, dried it out for a few moths and built it out this morning, at least enough to play, frets, pickups, tuners... I'll attach a video demo that we shot this morning after assembly.

"Did that band really play nearly eight hours to accomplish the brewing process? If so, the guitar should be nicely broken in. I love the styling on it and the gold/bronze color is killer ?"
Woody - The band did play a total of eleven hours and Dan, the lead singer's voice never quit. It was pretty unbelievable. He played the heck out of that prototype, so much so that I had to refinish the top and back of the guitar. I'm glad you dig the color, we love the copper/Danelectro/Silvertone vibe of it and you know you are always welcome here for any kind of guitar or bass doings.

Once again, thank you so much for watching the show. It was a unique experience and it means a lot to share it with you.

Cheers,
Jeff

Cool. I get the Brew Guitar; the one the guy was actually playing during the jamming? looked like it had your hand in it.

The actual drowned guitar, well, unlike the surf'd Jag that Jon carried in/out of the ocean for Bob Perrine, you're more likely to know who that's going to - cool. One of those "if this guitar could talk (if it wasn't hungover)."

Testing continues on the vibrato equipped version.
I'll be playing this prototype at our gig on friday with the Mystery Men? here in Nashville and then we have a few other vibrato options to test out in October.
I'd really like to design our own vibrato for this guitar rather than stick something common on it but at this moment it's cost prohibitive.
I used this version for three full days of rehearsal last week and an Aces rehearsal last night and have been pleased so far......

Yessss!!!!

FYI, per your e-mail I am working on something at work for the thing. I'm hoping to make it happen! School starts the next week, so it is a general no time off period.

You counter-sunk the tremolo into the body, didn't you? To combat the ultra low string angle over the bridge I'll bet?

Great looking guitar!

Great looking guitar!

Thanks Sonichris.
Yep, this vibrato has some "issues" like improperly drilled string holes for correct angle. We also added a 3 degree neck pocket.
The next Vibrato we're going to test will not need the countersunk rout.
