This was a steal and a no brainer. 93 MIM for 100.00 and a pair of condenser mics that I never use. Wanted an olympic white for a long time. The purpose of this guitar was to put a duet of classic 70's cream dimarzio's with les paul style switching and some coil tapping to produce a multitude of sounds. I plugged it into the bandmaster last night and did some surf with it and those ceramic MIM's sounded fantastic. I......DON"T......UNDERSTAND?

I'd been trying to sell the AT pro73r's for a long time. Great mics but I have 3 sets of them. 100.00 bucks and a set of mics. I'm happy but way confused by how nice the stock pups sounded though my bandmaster. That's not supposed to happen!

Mexican fenders are nice guitars when you come upon a good example
The same thing with my MIM telecaster that I took after playing some 10 brand new of them in the shop. This one is a killer and my favorite guitar for 14 years already. May be this strat is from the some breed)))
However I do not really like these stock ceramics. But that's a matter of taste.

congrats....I have a MIM strat in oly white as well (tort pick guard tho)
,love the look but I had to ditch the pickups for a set of vintage types .I also had a steel trem block installed and now I love it. The neck is great and it does everything a strat should .
ya gotta love Craigs -list !

I'm going to go with my original idea of making this a shredder with duel buckers. I was surprised by the sound of the mim's though.

Dang, I shoulda saved that pair of the (DiMarzio DNA) H B's that were originally in my Blacktop. I just kinda tossed 'em in to the shop when the guitar went back with the Duncans for a trade. Not too hot  but got tired of keeping a fire extinguisher on top of the amp... probably woulda worked for what you want.
