Miserlou was Re: Slacktone video - 10 Year Anniversary

Pollo Del Mar (ferencnd) - 02 Feb 2005 17:49:20

Oh man you SoCalers (and NorCalers?) are in for a treat when the Surf
Coasters play with Slacktone... Yes, the two most impressive versions
of Miserlou I have ever seen are Mssrs. Wronski and Naka, and now they
are going to be in same room! What are the chances of them performing
it together???

PS- There will be absolutely no discussion as to who plays it better.
When you are that great there is no "better."

I witnessed first hand The Surf Coasters play Misirlou twice, during two
consecutive nights. I've never been the same since.... :)
I very much want to come out again and see Slacktone in March.
Unfortunately I haven't made any plans yet and the clock is ticking.
BTW, there is a video clip here of The 'Coasters performing Misirlou in
Sacramento here:

That would be the most amazing thing ever. With Dave's intro and
Shigeo's fancy fretboard skills it would be unstoppable.
Of Shigeo's and Dave's version I would say I prefer Daves. Shigeo's
might be cooler because of his demonstration of his fretboard
skills/tricks but Dave's was more interesting. I can't wait for the
Surf Coasters to make it up to Seattle so I can see them play.
