Ok, maybe I'm kinda late on the draw here, so if this has come up before, I
apologize... but...
so yesterday I get my Eddie & The Showmen CD, and my curiousity is whet for
more info on Eddie B, where is he now, what happened between his surf days
and today, anything else out there on him, etc.
What do I find? He did a porno in '98! You go Ed! (ok so he wasnt an 'actor'
in it as such but still...)

Anyone seen this? Oh yeah, I know musicians NEVER watch porn, especially the
ones about all girl surf bands.
A couple of days ago someone was asking about the lack of female
musicians...
Who said there weren't enough female muscians?? Skinflutes are insruments,
right? Bone Trombones anyone? (I'll stop there..LOL )

I've seen it.
I'm not opposed to some good porn but this one made me feel dirty. The women
are ugly, the sex is boring and Jim Holiday has a way of making everything
cheap and scummy. Ewwww. {shivers}
BTW,
Ed just plays a hacked up version of Squad Car at the end. It's bad and not
even the real song. I guess he couldn't get the rights or something.

I too have seen this. Not only have I seen it, but I own it. The only DVD
of its kind I own, but come on! Eddie Bertrand! Had to see it. His big scene
at the end is a joke. The editing is so bad that during filming, he switched
guitars at some point, and whoever edited it didnt care enough to keep it
consistent so all during his bit his guitar switches between a tele and a
strat if my memory serves me. Then there's this eulogy-like paragraph at the
very end about how his record company screwed him out of any royalties or
profits he deserved.
Now, I'm no Eddie Bertrand historian, but I think somewhere once I read
that his dad had some huge part to do with their success, like he was
somehow in the biz...can't remember exactly. And if they're going to blame a
record company for screwing him out of royalties or profits, how do they
feel about the british invasion? Or the fact that it was still surf music no
matter how you slice it?
And phil was right...the porn for the sake of porn is awful.
