I just want to stand up a bit for Soul Pilgrim:
Morpheous, Steel Pier, Shootin' The Pier, Plymouth Rock, Scatter Shield,
Spoke, etc... Haunted House of Rock 95....damn there is some really good
tracks on there!!! How can you not like these? (kidding of course)
Their covers of Steel Pier and Morpheous are phenomenal. And Plymouth
Rock makes me want to get up and smash things. Morpheous is just a
masterpiece of tightness and simplicity. That 3 guitar attack on full
display.
I did not like this album at first, but then I realized it was the organ
and soul heavy first track (Soul Pilgrim) that was throwing me off. Skip
that one, and maybe one more (Lets Go To The Beach?) and try it again. I
think its a goldmine of good stuff. I even like the R&B heavy "Shit
Sandwich".

Brian,
I heard the Wah-Wah pedal and pitched that disc out my window! If I
wanted to hear that hippy crap I woulda bought some Hendrix. Just
kidding, it wasn't THAT bad. I'm really not a big fan of "surf" with
bendy guitar one it, and this album has more of the 3rd guitarist on
it. But as far as I'm concerned, At Home With, and Around the World
With are just in different leagues than Soul Pilgrim.
I just went back and listened to "Shootin' the Pier" and the
guitarist who doesn't use reverb takes a solo on it, and man he
might have had a wound G. So maybe I should give him more credit.
