Jag?

-=Brad Davis=- (tammibrad) - 06 Jan 2005 18:51:43

I'm an idiot, didn't change the subject line the first time around.
Decisions...decisions.....I have a '63 JM....and I starting to think I want
a comparable JAG (pre-cbs)....is the sound a LOT thinner than my JM? I'm ok
with it not being as powerful on the low-end, 'cause my belief is that I'll
have more high-end. And, I think the short scale would be cool.
I've never played a JAG.....
I know, I know....this has come up before....but if anyone feels verbose, or
can point me to some groups that just used JAGs, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks,
-Brad

Eddie Bertrand "just used a Jag"...I'm pretty sure, atleast during
the Showmen years recordings. "Scratch" puts to rest the myth that
soloing is
tougher on a "24 scale.
The Treblemakers "vs. the Doomsday Device" Zak told me whenever he
or Denis were playing leads it was on their Jags.
The Fender IV listen to "Everybody Up" that's pure Jag tone.
Gregg Hunt used a Jag on the Finks "Filler Up and Go" album.
The Reluctant Aquanauts, all I use is a Jag, you can hear a few
clips here. www.myspace.com/reluctantaquanauts
Hey look out I sold my Jazzmaster and Strat after I got the Jag.
How big are you hands??

I don't have too much trouble with long scale, but I bet the 11s have a
different feel on a 24".

IMO 11s are too floppy on the Jag. You may find 12s or 13s work out
better on the shorter scale.
