I counted 8 for sures and 4 maybes due to bad lighting and lack of detail.
I used this site to help myself out.
hey, it doesn't say it's all original, does it? ;-)
i'd say fraud, except for that in criminal legal theory there is a
thing called 'useless means', meaning that an attempted crime is not
a criminal act if the means you use are completely useless means to
do it.... the theory comes from a case where a women tried to poison
her husband with tea boiled with copper coins.... big surprise, the
guy lived.
i think trying to sell this guitar as a '57 falls in the same category

I don't know what year it is, but it sure looks sexy on the hood of
that fine automobile. ;-)

At least the neck (and probably the rest of the guitar) is from
between December '65 and mid-'68 (large headstock, gold logo, no tilt-
neck micro adjustment). It seems that the seller doesn't know much
about guitars, so maybe he got '67 and '57 confused. Let's be
charitable and grant him the benefit of the doubt....
But, man oh man, that's one beat-up, badly decayed guitar! Looks
horrible, and the bad replacement pickups and knobs aren't helping...

just looking at it...
1. should have a 1 layer pickguard
2. No Fender on neck plate (heck even the earliest had a big F
3. wrong headstock and decal (even the shape of the headstock
looks wrong)
4. Nut is too thick
5. plastic button tuners
6. Pickups are just plain wrong (should have exsposed poles)
7. the wrong knobs
8. Oval Trem plate holes
9. finish would be a glorious amber shade for a guitar that
exposed to the elements
I doubt its even a real fender

Come on Paul don't you know? That's his '58 Thunderbird!
People like this need to be yanked off Ebay for good.

I may be wrong, but I think this guitar is one of those Vietnamese
copy guitars from the 60's. It has those cheap exposed tuners,
cheap pickups, knobs, etc. that I have seen on the fake jags of the
same period. The logo on the headstock looks like it, too. also,
the neck plate screws are too small. I've heard the Vietnamese
fakes necks are really bolted on UNDER the plate, and the plate is
just a decorative cover. I'd bet it doesn't even have a truss rod.
I especially like the descriptive " It's in old condition"!

After a closer look, I also think it's a fake. The logo is not right
(during the gold logo '65-'66 the word Stratocaster was in light
print, not heavy like it is here). And I've never seen a neck plate
that has Fender written on it. Also, the plastic tuners were never
used by Fender. And of course the pickups and knobs are totally
wrong, but I thought that those may have been replaced.
Fake!!!

A couple other things I noticed. That logo was never used on a Strat.
It may be used these days but it was never used on anything vintage. I
compared it to all of the logos on Jim Shine's site. The lettering of
Stratocasater is either too tall and bold or not long and wavy enough.
Also there are no clay dots which wouldn't make it a '57. There is
also no strip of wood running down the back of the guitar. I don't
know if that was done on a '57 or not but I have seen it on a number
of strats. The pots for the middle knob appears to be much too tall.
Strat owners can confirm this. There is a four letter serial number.
Can any strat owners confirm that the size of the strap button is the
right size?
About what was said about the bolt on neck being bolted in the pocket.
I don't even think those are real screws holding the neck plate in
place. I can't notice any definition that would make them phillips or
flathead.

An additional detail that I haven't seen mentioned yet: The body
contour.
That body has a 70's contour - it's boxy, with the "cutout" areas being
notched into it, with hard, angled edges. The older strats have a
swooping, rounded contour that flows smoothly from surface to surface.

Hey, I have been a member for a while, even though I rarely post. I
sent the seller an email saying that he was not selling a '57 and
explained why, and he said that I (and 25 others)don't know what I'm
talking about and that some rock 'n' rollers in hollywood love the
guitar, and that it is the same as the one at the hard rock cafe. I
responded to his email saying that it doesn't have anything to do with
the quality of the guitar itself (even though that is questionable),
and that he is purposely misleading the bidders, even though they too
must obviously know little about guitars. He replied with this:
Hello eric,,
I would not purposely miss lead anyone..And I will always refund any
thing i sell Fully..
So who the fuck are you ?? The fuckin e bay police ?? I dont give
a flyin fuck what you do..Mind your own fuckin buisnee dick head!!!

I apologize for his profanity, but I'm not going to "bleep" it; it
makes him look less inteligent and like more of an ass.

Hey, it looks like he got smart and pulled it off ebay. I replyed to
the email that I posted, and it seems that he gave up.
