I noticed that earlier on someone was asking about surf tablature.
First, ye ole disclaimer:
I am not a fan of tablature. Not only is 99% of the tab you find on
the web completely wrong (or totally simplified, at best), you're
just cheating yourself out of the obvious benefits that you get out
of sitting down with a song and figuring it out yourself. Learning
one song from start to finish entirely by ear will help your playing
(and transcribing skills) much more than learning a dozen tunes from
someone else's (inaccurate) transcriptions. With a little hard work
and determination, you could develop your ear to the point where you
can figure out what a guitar part is without even having a guitar in
your hand.
Now that I've had my little rant, here are two sites with plenty of
surf tabs. I understand that these could be beneficial to the
beginners, but PLEASE do yourselves a favor and practice learning
songs off record BY EAR. It will help you much more in the long run.
