Jeez, I thought I was the youngest here at 22. I'll feel old this
January when I turn 23. It sure is tough going through school and
trying to be in a serious band. My dad died when I was 19, so that
screwed me up at school, so I still have a bit more to go. But, our
drummer just finished, and is still in that phase where he's looking
for work. Man, let me tell you he has more time than an a retired
person. Unless your going to grad school or going straight into the
work force look foward to your first few post college years, all this
guy does is practice drums.
Jacob, I'm looking foward to hearing some of your stuff. How many
pieces is your band?

You are from the Reluctant Aquanauts? If so, your drummer is terrific.
And you are the guy from Gretsch Pages? Our band if four pieces. Two
guitars not two basses or two drums. Are name is officially The 'Verb
as of last night. The other guitarist is getting me a CD tonight so I
can upload some songs. I will try to find a site I can upload some
music for people to hear. The demos are nothing special in the way of
sound but you can get an idea. We are planning a website. I want to
make it informative about surf and our gear for the non-surf people I
send the address to. I am really excited about getting shows in the
next month or two. We are ready to go by February. We decided that we
are going to wear black suits with black ties. Reservoir Dogs type
thing. I haven't seen it done in surf music yet. Maybe except the
Troubadors. But there are a lot of clever bands who have some great
things to wear on stage. The Aquanauts look real cool on stage as do
the Nebulas.

Hey Jacob -
Yeah I'm from the Reluctant Aquanauts.
Thanks for the compliments on our drummer Alex. I feel honored just
to play with the guy and it's too bad not many people know of him in
the surf genre, because if they did he would be considered one of the
top. Hopefully, we can keep him on board for awhile.
Set up a freewebs site for the time being it's fairly easy, you can
also put your sound files on it. www.freewebs.com
Like I said we are looking foward to hearing from another younger
surf band. You guys are lucky you've found a 2nd guitarist, it's
really tough finding 4 guys in their early 20s who are all into this
stuff. So best of luck to you guys!
BTW We did the black dress shirts w/ black skinny ties when we
started. Then I struck gold in form of vintage cardigan sweaters
haha.

Thanks for the Freewebs heads up. I really enjoy having the second
guitar. My friend is main lead. Having rhythm underneath really adds
to the sound. It has led us to a Space Cossacks sound.
