December 18th -- another terrific "Surf-Rock Shindig"
from Unsteady Freddie -- this one at JAXX in West
Springfield, Virginia
4 wonderful bands, playing diverse styles of surf and
other genres, all mixed well together -- a wonderfully
balanced set
I taped 4 interviews for "Twang Shebang" so listen for
them, including one with 3 members of the Atomic
Mosquitos who came out to support the show! thanks
dudes!
The Patapsco Kings started things ripping,
followed by MegaTsunami
then The Stunt Doubles
and closing with Monsters from the Surf
Jay Nedry of JAXX has asked me back, and the thinking
is to get a "headliner" in the surf-rock field, with 2
or 3 other bands....not to take away from any of the 4
acts that played this past Saturday, that is....and
this way draw an even larger audience in to see and
hear the surf music experience
So, I will try and chase some national touring acts,
such as The Red Elvises, Los Straitjackets, Laika and
the Cosmonauts, Dick Dale, etc....and maybe just maybe
we can put something together in 2005?
So thanks to everyone who contributed to a fun-filled
twang-drenched evening!

February 12 2005 at MAKOR in Lincoln Center --- need a
third band ASAP to sign on (MegaTsunami sounded like
they would grab the slot but it's still open) -- also
on the bill are 2 great acts THE SUPERTONES and
SURFALICIOUS DUDES -- cmon, someone jump in!
