Greetings one and all,
We want to send out our warmest holiday wishes to one and all, and
hope the new year brings nothing but the best for everyone. Also,
don't forget - nothing says "happy holidays", "I love you", or "I'm
sorry I hit on your sibling" like Lava Rats merchandise, so cruise on
over to our website and pick up the latest schwag to keep the festive
holdiay spirit going.
Now on to the afforementioned news....
It is with a mix of joy and sadness that we offer our farewell and
good luck to the Bassmaster himself - Kenan O'Brien. He is hanging
up his Lava Rats jacket after this Tuesday so that he can pay full
attention to his studies when he starts school at UC Berekely this
Spring. It was due in great part to Kenan's hard work and dedication
that we have gotten to where we are today as a band. But then again,
look at Taylor and I, and you see what you have to look forward to
after being in a surf band and going to college at the same time!
However, our sadness in seeing Kenan leave is matched by our
excitement in announcing the newest Rat to enter the Cave -- Sean
Perdomo. A long time friend and bandmate of both Taylor and I, Sean
is a very welcome addition to the Lava Rat family. He looks to start
up in the New Year with the Rats, and hopefully that means we'll be
back out gigging soon.
So, look out for us in the New Year to be back on the street, playing
as much as always. Check out the site for a bunch of new pictures,
including our new picture gallery "friends and fans" in which all
y'all can see pics of yourselves, granted you come out to the show
and track down whoever is holding the camera.
Happy Holidays to all, and sleep tight knowing that while we will all
miss Kenan and everything he brought to the band, The Lava Rats will
keep on rockin' in the new year.
