I'm interested in surf groups past and present that feature 3 (or more?) guitars
in their
lineup. I imagine that with that many instruments, and a creative arranger, it
should make
for some very interesting music. So dig into the vast stores of surf music
knowledge you
retain, and see if together you can cobble together a semi-comprehensive list?
Sardonicus
Avengers VI ?
The Astronauts
Satan's Pilgrims
That's all I got.

Here's a photo of the Showmen with 3 guitars (Rob Edwards, who's on
bass also played rhythm guitar).
I've also seen live photos of the Bomboras when Jake would move from
organ to guitar.

Not a surf band but I always thought Moby Grape had 3 guitars - or did
they just add the tracks? Anyway, to me they had a nice sound, you
could clearly hear each of the guitar parts and they worked well together.

Moby Grape did have three guitars: Peter Lewis (Finger picked
Acoustic), Skip Spence (Electric Rhythm) and the great Jerry Miller
(Electric & Acoustic Lead).
Of course, there was also Buffalo Springfield (not exactly a surf
band....

They used to have five during encores--roadies would fill in on drums
& bass and both Bouchards would grab axes.
Getting even further away from where this started, Bad Religion and
Iron Maiden currently have three guitarists. Although I guess it kind
of relates because Gein & the Graverobbers covered
Maiden's "Transylvania."
Gein & the Graverobbers , unfortunately, only have two guitarists.
