Anybody know anything about the band Daikaju? I have a song of theirs on
a comp, and I ran across their website today:
They don't seem to be a trad sounding band, but I what I heard on their
site sounded interesting.
Anyone seen them live or have any opinions on them?
Based on their past tour dates I would guess that they are from Alabama.
Oh yeah and they appear to wear Kabuki masks. :)
Thanks,
BN
short 'cause in a hurry:
- seen 'em live and have cd
- don't remeber them wearing masks live
- absolutly not trad, hardly surf: lots of psychadelic soundeffects
and pedals, both (modern sounding) OD en distortion and phasing
effects.
- but ... in what they do they are very good.
not for purists, but if you like experimentation, awesome.

-Brian,
I saw them play 3 times here in So. Cal. when they were on tour
with the Anacondas from the Netherlands.
I must say I was blown away and totally dug what they were doin'.
Allthough what they do is barely surf, it is Instrumental.
A very Heavy and Prog orientaded band.
They said that the've been listening to a bit of surf for the past
couple years. But they come form a rock/metal Jazz/fusion/
Background. But also Bluegrass/apalachan music sneeks in there a tid
bit too. I say check them out if your into intense music with lots of
changes.
