I think I paid about $40 for the Labella flats that I
had on my AV series Precision and never changed them.
Flatwounds don't need to be changed very often and I
figure that since you hardly break them it's not too
much of a stretch to put some extra cash in them.
Roundwounds, at least the Ernie Balls that I use, are
a good bit cheaper but with as much as I play I tend
to gunk them up pretty bad over the course of a few
months and need to add a fresh set. It comes out to
about the same amount of money.
Actually, I wasn't under the impression that all the
bassists here were flatwound users. Am I wrong about
that?
