Since we got on the speaker talk, I thought I'd send along this oddity - a 30"
speaker made
by EV in the 1950s. Yes, 30"! Talk about sub-woofers, I am getting a pair of
these for my
surfin' Woody!

great pic,
though i don't think the 'biggest speaker for hifi purposes' is
right. there are square-formed speakers that work different form
round ones. It's like a square cone that moves back and forth in one
direction, and they are big. Don't have a clue what they are all
about, and what they are called, but a hifi freak nerd friend of mine
has a set, and they are apporox 30 by 20 inch. they are not loud at
all, but supposedly sound very good.
Personnaly i don't care too much about the quality of my stereo set,
so i wouldn;t know. I always get a good laugh when he's got about 500
cd's, and says he only plays about five because all the others sound
like crap on his very expensive super stereo.

At Disneyland in the Michael Jackson(no I'm not a fan) 3-D movie
theater, They have a 6 foot speaker mounted under the floor that
the chairs are set on. They say it goes down to 5 htz.
Now put one of those in a truck and blast the hip hop guys off the
road.
