INCONSTANTE FEDERICO

Unsteady Freddie (schizofredric) - 02 Oct 2004 19:57:14

Back in my hotel safe and sound, 230 am over here Sunday
Leave to JFK in mid-afternoon
The final night of THE WIPE OUT FESITVAL www.wipeoutfestival.com is over
I am totally drained - had like 2 vacations in 1 -- all day in BARCELONA all
night in CALELLA for surf - garage twangin´ times
UNSTEADY FREDDIE had the pleasure of not only meeting DAVIE ALLAN and taking a
few photos, but he gave me an INTERVIEW for TWANG SHEBANG ! And did he knock
the fuzz off the back of my neck - the KING OF THE FUZZ GUITAR was in great
form; I have a copy of his set list, will post it soon
Opening tonight were THE IMPERIAL SURFERS - 3 piece led by me new amigo ESTEBAN
(they are from SPAIN) -- I also have their set list and will post that too; the
boys dedicated one of heir tunes, ¨SIN SAN SUN¨ to your truly! Esteban bless
you and your band mates, and love to SYLVIA -- wonderful people
HIPBONE SLIM from the UK played 3 piece authentic (more or less) rockabilly,
including stand-up bass, shades of THE ROCKATS (but no sign of ROBERT GORDON
anywhere); and speaking of ROBERT GORDON, EDDIE ANGEL told me he and PETE CURRIE
of LOS STRAITJACKETS play on ROBERT´S NEW ALBUM! So check that out too. HIPBONE
SLIM & THE KNEE TREMBLERS is he group´s full name. Those that know BRITISH
SLANG know what a KNEE-TREMBLER is but I am too proper to reveal the translation
here (PETER NOONE I recall had a band called THE KNEE TREMBLERS in the late 70´s
or early 80´s didnt he?)
LOST ACAPULCO from Mexcio (Mexican wrestling masks once again making the scene)
played a scary powerful monster set.....wonderful guys, got a copy of their CD
autographed by the lads, called ACAPULCO GOLDEN
Davie Allan also signed 3 CDs for me - LIVE RUN, FUZZ FEST and LOUD LOOSE AND
SAVAGE (the autograph on the latter one says KEEP FUZZIN´)
THE MAHARAJAS from Sweden were up next, playing a 95% vocal set, which I didnt
hear all of b-c of the interview with DAVIE ALLAN; also spoke with FRANCOIS of
LES PLAYBOYS
Gonna try and get some shut-eye
JESUS WAS THIS A BLAST AND A HALF, NO MAKE THAT AT LEAST 2 BLASTS
Reverb, fuzz, tremelo, surf beat, etc etc etc - PHENOMENAL
Adios SURF GARAGE TWANG LOVERS
UNSTEADY FREDDIE, leaving Spain with mucho new international friends, like BETO
of LOS DERRUMBES, for instance
and BLESS YOU CARLOS for inviting me and putting together such a great event
and LOVE YOU ¨JOAN¨ from WIPEOUT BOOKINGS for all the arrangements that went
flawlessly
and ROBI of the BITCH BOYS - saw that great POST about me...thanks DUDE
