Evan Foster: Instrumentals

Brian Neal (xarxas) - 20 Sep 2004 12:44:22

I just have to do a quick "me too", following on to Charlie Kinyon's
shout out and Ivan's very detailed review that appeared on this list
a few weeks back. This CD is a fine piece of work. The surf songs
are to die for, and the other songs (with a couple of exceptions)
could become instrumental rock classics. The guitar work is so
precise and sharp, fluid and razor sharp, and the songwriting is
outstanding. Do not drive with this CD in the car, you will get a
speeding ticket!
I'd love to hear what gear Evan used on this CD. He is pictured with
a Jaguar and has a Bandmaster on the inside cover. Maybe I'll try
and email him and ask.
I feel very fortunate to get this CD, The Hellbenders, and the new
Pollo Del Mar...lots of great stuff going around these days. These
guys are setting the bar very high. Keep it coming I say.
A very appreciative fan,
BN

I gotta agree with you, Brian - this CD has been stuck in my player ever
since I got it.
Basically, Evan Foster kicks butt. Period. (A little dose of Dusty doesn't
hurt either . . . )
I highly recommend this one - great stuff!
