Re: long hair

Kristena Hernandez (freakytiki2001) - 09 Sep 2004 22:51:51

That's pretty good. If you ever see Deadbolt, you will hear a lot of
anti long-hair sentiment.

I used to have long hair, with that shaved undercut. I looked kind of like the
Undertaker from the WWE. All one length. I've had a shiny pompadour for about
four years. Even when I was a long-hair I admired that 50's look. Funny though,
when I started playing in bands we did mostly punk or metal and long hair wasn't
a pre-requisite, although all the guys we knew from Poison type bands all went
bald. Must have been the hairspray. Oh yeah Kristena, Deadbolt rule. The first
album I bought was "Shrunken Head." Those guys are hilarious. I'd love to see
them play live.

My God, I just got home from the show and now I'm watching this band
called the Darkness on late night TV. Just for THAT I'm gonna quote
my favorite anti hippy rant by L.A.s original (1978) art/punk
weirdos, the Deadbeats.
"Kill the Hippies":
"Hippies should cut their hair but still let it grow
They should move to Frisco but just won't go
That's why we have to teach them wrong from right
They believe in peace, but we know how to fight!
(CHORUS) Let's kill more hippies like we did last year (X-3)
The idea of peace and love is a fairy tale
Another shallow concept that will always fail
Better to remain angry at the world instead
and break every record ever made by the Grateful Dead."
...In all fairness, I'd better include the first verse:
"A human time bomb waiting for D-day
A chip on the shoulder that will never go away
Blank generation with nothing to do
Brain cels reduced to zero from sniffing glue
with a black leather jacket and a blue mohawk
slam dancing every night to loud punk rock
a needle in the arm and a sneer on the face
an attitude that says you hate the human race... (CH)
OK, go ahead and flame me for this one, but I can NOT believe the
size of the audience for this band (The Darkness).
Let's face it. The most outragous thing that can happen to popular
music now is for a clean cut all American surf band to take over the
world.
WHITE LEVI'S AND CREW CUTS FOR EVERYONE!!! ~Mike
PS: I actually like some Grateful Dead tunes, and can't even listen
to most crappy hardcore punk, so don't even get all bent outta shape
on me!
Good night.

I love that band The Darkness. They're a great comedy act. The singer sings in
this goofy falsetto putting on the heavy bands of the '70's and '80's. Their
best tune is "Keep Your Hands Off My Woman, Mother F&%$#^R!"

I thought it was a "Spinal Tap" joke the first time I saw them! I like
their influences {thin Lizzy tee shirt}, and they are fun to watch!
