You know, I get these amazing opportunities to present surf-rock music live in
venues that are several steps-up from the usual places this music is usually
forced to be played
GALAPAGOS ART SPACE www.galapagosartspace.com in WILLIAMSBURG BROOKLYN is one
beautiful space
Yet I put the word out for "3" surf bands - and the response has been very
disappointing
SPF-4 at first said they could make, now they cannot---and that's cool
THE SUPERTONES I think will be able to appear
But GALAPAGOS is looking for me to bring "3" bands on AUGUST 17TH
So, where is everyone when the call goes out?
What about THE SHARKSKINS, THE BOSCH, THE HOWLIN' THURSTONS, THE COFFIN DAGGERS,
for starters ?

We'd help you out, but we can't play at Galapagos anymore because I
had a big fight with the sound guy the last time we played there, it
almost came to blows, so we're not welcome there anymore. He was a
real arrogant prick towards me, and I wouldn't take it, so a big
problem occured at soundcheck. He was telling our drummer not to hit
the drums so hard and wouldn't let me turn my amp past "3" because he
said I was too loud for the room, and insisted on putting me through
the PA even though I asked him not to mic my amp. It's a very large
room and I never had this problem in smaller venues with my amp on
"10". After this inccident I swore off playing in places that treat
us like shit ( there are lots of them! ). Hope you can find someone
anyway, and cheers for trying to get things going, not many people

Willis who books the club showed amazing enthusiasm as the thought of
having the COFFIN DAGGERS play there
How long ago did this idiotic event happen?
And do you have the sound guy's name? Maybe he's moved on?
Wd U think about it if the circumstances were different?
The place has been fixed up real nice, beautiful place
Only 1 room for music now
