I initially purchased a Clapton signature strat for about $1,000 new,
because it had the best tone to me in 1993.
I have now turned from that opinion and play a shoreline gold, 62 reissue
with 12's, inspired by Ivan from, "The Madeira," fame and this guitar has
the tone I was really looking for. It cost me $700 on Ebay and had EMG pick
ups on it, which were emmediately replaced with Fender Custom shop 54's and
about to be .rewired via inspiration of a fave strat owned by Dave Ronski of
"Slacktone," fame. These guys play like I want to play and sound like I
want to sound, so there you go!!!
