I did some more research on Glenn, and found out Seals and Crofts joined The
Champs a bit before him. Yikes....
It seems the Champs did go out on tour, and a revolving door band member
policy was instituted to get the band out on the road in order to capitalize
on the success of "Tequila", which was a few years old by the time Campbell,
Seals, & Crofts were brought in:
Check out the vintage gear....Jazzmasters, Showmen... <insert Homer Simpson
drool sound here>
Jerry Cole was also in the band at the same time as Glenn. Now I know the
origins of "Jerry Cole and His Spacemen"...

I mean, cripes, look at the photo from late 1959. Jerry Cole is pictured
with a Jazzmaster, which, although the photo is in black and white, appears
to be white with an anodized aluminum pickguard. Sweeeeet....Holy gearhead,
Batman! '59 was the first production year of the Jazzmaster and they had
those metal guards only briefly. I had thought only sunburst was offered
originally in '59; it must have been a custom job or more likely the picture
is actually newer than it is dated (early 60's).
I often wonder what happened to all those guitars....
