Thank you Warren!
I found a lot of the guitar tabs, but only a few bass tabs that I hadn't
already known about. Bummer.
What is the accepted standard for tab? I mean, how complete does it have
to be and how sure do I have to be that it is written just as the band
played it? Because like I said, I have a bunch nearly done, I'm just not
confident about small sections of each and I don't want to screw anyone
up.
Along the Surf Coasters line, my favorites are Escape From Alcatraz,
B.A.R.T, Dreams (which I might be able to get from the video), Come Back
From The Rock, and Timeless Border. If you had parts of any of those for
bass, send them my way...that would be great.
I appreciate the time it took you to find me all of those links. Thanks
for your help!!
Shari

Shari,
I've got a bunch of Surf Coasters stuff tabbed out here and there, so
if there are specific songs of theirs you're looking for I may be
able to help.
Here's a few links:
I think there's a solitary Satan's Pilgrims bass tab at OLGA. Also,
there's a bunch of Bambi Molesters stuff at www.mxtabs.net (listed
under 'T' for 'The Bambi Molesters'), but I think it's most if not
all guitar.
There are a handful of Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet bass tabs here:
This page "borrowed" most of the SG 101 tab library, and has some
other "borrowed" tabs as well:
This page has chord guides for a bunch of songs (mostly Eleki):
Oh, and a third of the way down this page:
is guitar and bass tab for a song called "The Endless Summer." It's
a really neat surf tune (not the movie theme) from the
videogame 'Guitar Freaks.'
-------
Also, if you can find a good MIDI transcription program, that can be
a *great* way to learn parts. TablEdit is good, and the shareware
version is quite useable. Guitar Pro has a free 30 day trial, but
after that you have to pay for the program, and it's fairly expensive.
The only problem is finding surf MIDI files, but there's at least 40
or so Ventures songs floating around the net in that format.
A lot of it also comes with experience. Certain note/chord intervals
keep popping up in songs, and the more you come across them in songs
you learn, the easier they become to recognize.
Good luck,
-Warren
