Friday night, I spiked my hair and went to see TSOL, the Dickies, DI and
Channel 3 at the Gene Autrey Western Heritage Museum in Griffith park, Los
Angeles.
They said they are affirming Punk rock as part of the musical heritage of
Southern California and it was a one time thing.
Was anyone else there and more importantly...
Has anybody ever heard of Surf guitar being a part of Southern California
culture? Hmmmmmm?
They currently have an anual summer concert series called, "The Sizzling
Summer Nights Performances."
This year they will be featuring Big Band Swing and music of the 50's in
July and then Salsa and Latin Jazz in August.
I have already placed a call asking Jeff the Program Manager, when the surf
guitar gig is scheduled, but since I don't have a band, I wanted to throw it
out to the Group and see if we could get an anual Stomp set up here, or
something?
