First of all, thanks to everyone for responding to my email please for a
last-minute gig this coming Sunday June 13th in Queens New York at Fort Totten
that came to my attention -- many many artists stepped up, although not
available, I am most appreciative at the kind thoughts, words of encouragement,
and generally speaking, the brotherhood amongst us fans of surf-rock music. I
feel like I belong to a wonderful community of totally cool people.
As it happens, this is a great cause. There will be another event, and a
surf-rock band's services will be needed. More advance notice will be posted by
yours truly at that time.
At the suggestion of Tim Sullivan of THE SUPERTONES, I offered this wonderful
charity my services to DJ LIVE some surf-rock music. Guess what? They
graciously accepted! I am bringing a bunch of varied CD's, and will have some
fun sharing my joy for surf-rock music with others. And if they give UNSTEADY
FREDDIE a microphone to speak, well, God help them! 'Cause I'm gonna have "FUN
FUN FUN" for sure !
If you want to stop by and enjoy the festivities, I am posting the information
at the end of this email again, includes directions and everything you need to
know.
So this Sunday June 13th I'm Gonna Ride the Wild Surf (figureatively, of course;
I'll leave the literal surfing to my good buddy, The Surfing Rabbi
www.surfingrabbi.com).
You can also find me Saturday Night in NEW LONDON CONNECTICUT for the 3-band
extravaganza -- at the BANK STREET CAFE -- with THE CLAMS, THE 9TH WAVE and
FINLAND'S LAIKA & THE COSMONAUTS.
AND DON'T FORGET my SURF-ROCK SHINDIG at The Coral Room June 23rd starring THE
9TH WAVE and THE SUPERTONES (www.reverbsuperb.com, www.coralroomnyc.com). WITH
LIVE "MERMAIDS" SWIMMING BEFORE YOUR EYES !! Totally rockin' venue for surf
music !
Gotta go catch a wave !
Thanks again dudes and surfer girls for your love and wonderful responses.
