If you want someone who could really challenge Dick
Dale for absolute powerful Surf, look no further than
Eddie & the Showmen. "Toes On The Nose," "Squad Car"
and "Scratch" are all as wild and melodic as anything
from SURFER'S CHOICE. "Mr. Rebel" is my favorite Surf
song of all time. When I first heard that song, it
took my interest in Surf to a totally new level.
Never thought I see the day when those 45s were all
collected onto one CD. It's still better to listen to
the 45s, but that'll cost you dearly. Try and find
the out of print AVI Eddie & the Showmen compilation
from 1996. At 33 minutes, it buzzes by like it's no
man's business.
