Hey Vince, have you heard the song by the same name by
The Phantom Creeps? They're a horror surf/garage band
from Mass.
Richard
===>Actually, no I haven't. And here I thought I was being original! ;-)
The only "horror surf" bands I'm familiar with are The Bomboras and
Gein & the Graverobbers. Oh, and one other group (can't recall their name
off-hand--I have a cd of theirs called "A Haunting We Will Go-Go."
Why is it that rockabilly and surf go perfectly with horror? I mean, you don't
see too many bands from other genres mixing with horror (Gothic and heavy metal,
of course,
are the main exception)s--the only ones I can think of are The Gravediggaz
(a horror RAP group, believe it or not, who are--I think--and offshoot of the
Wu Tang Clan) and The Fun Boy Three (a ska/pop offshoot of The Specials--not
really "horror," per se, but they have some creepy stuff).
Could it be that so many of us that are into rockabilly and surf also were into
horror flicks?
Vincent
