Yesterday was string changing time, so I figured I would try Dick
Messick's cure for the floppy trem arm as detailed here:
I went to the hardware store and got a 3/8" bevelled faucet washer
and used a little circular file to enlarge the hole. It worked like
a charm! Thanks for the great idea Dick! I've got a thin layer of
teflon tape around the arm so it won't rattle and with your fix in
place it won't swing around. Excellent! And I've just been leaving
the arm in and closing the case on it. Seems to be fine.
