I don't think that will ever fully replace the old
school stuff. We already have active electronics and
digital modeling, and people use the stuff a lot, but
it's not going to take over and become the dominant
medium, like DVD over VHS or anything like that. Just
my opinion though, who knows. When they can get it to
sound better than anything you can get out of a plain
old electric guitar I'll look again. Past art
dictates current tastes to a great extent, so you're
talking about supplanting generations of culture bred
to certain standards.
