female surf instrumentalists

D. P. (noetical1) - 03 May 2004 10:55:32

Are there any female surf instrumentalists currently active on this
list? If there are, then they are an awful quiet bunch. For a
while, I thought one of the Neptunas used to visit...but, I haven't
heard a peep from her in a long time. Not that surf music has
much "gender" involved...on the contrary, it seems like surf is
almost "androgenous"... or "asexual"...
inquiring minds would like to know....

Despite my name, I play bass. I don't have a band and I'm not a gear
head, so I haven't found much to add to the conversation (although I
enjoy lurking!)
I was tempted to post a show report on the surf coasters but all it
said was "OH MY GOD!!" That seemed to have already been covered.
You are an interesting bunch. As for surf....Manly yes! But I like
it too!
Do inquiring minds REALLY want to know?

BBB:
"As for surf....Manly yes! But I like it too!"
...well, it's good to know that the double x-ers dig the
reverberation as much as the xy crowd...
thanks for doing your part to help the inquiring minds
know,
DP

I actually got the site and listened to 3 (very nice!) clips before
encountering the same problem.
