Does anyone know of any practice techniques to use to get better at
playing songs like gate crusher or miserlou? I have a heck of a time
keeping my pick hand up to speed lol.
Mr. L:
Slowly but surely practice with a metronome/drum machine.
Start at 1/2 tempo. Work at it 'til it sounds crisp and
clear. Crank up the tempo after you begiin to get it.
Invest the time.
Practice practice practice.

I've found it comes with a certail way you hold the pick...not too
firm but not too light, its rather hard to explain. I your playing a
jazz or a jag I'd recommend picking close to the bridge. Also
experiment with your palm placement...and try to pick straight up and
down. Keep practicing...
