The new site looks rad...your wife took a great photo (her pics of
the bands were really good too, as clubs are difficult venues to
photograph. As a photographer, I was muy impressed!
Will the new site design eventually replace this one? I can't
imagine we will all need to jump over to a new site (Surf Guitar
201 perhaps?) Since you are on the web-page war path, you
may want to re-file some of the photos...i.e. simplify. It's a little
daunting as it now stands. Maybe a folder for surf pics too?
Even with a high-speed dsl connection, I couldn't make the Surf
Coasters/Calif trip vid happen. : (
I am stoked about the new site design. Again, many thanks for
maintaining and moderating this site. We all appreciate your
efforts.

Hi Gavin,
Thanks for the kind words.

Yeah she's good at that kind of stuff!

No, the www.surfguitar101.com site will not replace this list. It's just
another website so we can host our surf related pics and videos. The photo
area for the Yahoo group is already nearly full, otherwise I would have just
uploaded everything there. And, I really hate how when you upload a picture
to the photo area for the group that Yahoo "helpfully" resizes the picture
for you. Think of the new site as an extension of the list.

The photos on the new site or in the Yahoo group area? I'm open for
suggestions. I agree, I think there is a lot of junk in the group photo
area; lots of duplicate pics found elsewhere on the web. I was thinking of
cleaning house and just keeping the pics of the group members and their
gear, etc. Anyone else have an opinion?

What happened? Did anyone else besides Dick and Ferenc get to see it? Again,
sorry the file is so big. Hey, if anyone wants all of the videos, just send
me a blank CD-R and a buck or two for postage, and I'll mail it back to you.
Contact me off list for that. Thanks.

I grabbed it this morning, no sweat.
I'm sure they can be compressed significantly, if you want to save on
bandwidth. Quicktime comes with a bunch of codecs...

Thanks everyone. I think I'll investigate compressing the files
before I upload anymore; 80 MB is just way too big to deal with.
Hopefully I'll be able to put them all up at once. If anyone has
used Quicktime Pro and has any tips on how to save for space, please
email me off list.
Thanks,
BN
