D'Aquisto Strings

Bill Moffat (brine_iac_x) - 22 Apr 2004 10:12:21

A timeless topic: Strings. Has anyone tried D'Aquisto strings? I
have been using them through a couple of string changes and have
found them different/better. I haven't broken a D'Aquisto yet,
especially the 0.022 wound G string. They are also a dollar or two
cheaper than D'Addario and Fender. They are not as bright sounding
as D'Addario's, but give a better "thump" for Diamond Head or
Pipeline.

Hi Bill. I have used most brands at one time or another including
the D'Aquisto. After 3 or 4 sets I end up back with the D'Addario.
As my playing is done with a rather "heavy" touch compared to most,
I demand strings that can with stand the abuse. I don't beat my
guitar or the strings, but I don't play with a light touch like
Steve Vai. When I played surf music I found using 50-E 40_A 30_D on
the lower side gave me the pop I needed. If I could ever find them
again, I would use a string named Squire. Not made anymore and were
my favorite of all. Hope this helps a little.
