The Sometime Monthly Howlin

Howlin Thurstons (howlinthurstons) - 19 Apr 2004 08:05:57

The Sometime Monthly Howlin’ Thurstons New Letter
Sorry to be getting this out to you guys so late, but we’ve just started work on
our first full length CD. We spent 14hrs. in the studio last Saturday under the
tutelage of our sage and counsel, J.P Bowerstock and his noble assistant Rich
Lam. It was an extremely productive session. Not only did we kill a quart of
Bushmills but managed to record and mix three new tunes.
Our Last Gig:
Everybody has a blast at the Lakeside Lounge: Thanks to all our friends, Blaise,
Andy, Unsteady Freddie, Coco, J.P. (sorry you had to run, dude) and all the rest
for coming down. Sooner or later we’ll get the pictures developed and posted.
Special thanks to Trebor & Danielle—It was good seeing you guys again!
The Next Gig:
We’ll be back at the Lakeside Lounge (162 Avenue B, between 10th & 11th Street)
on Friday night May 21. It’s an 11pm start and, as always there’s no cover.
Thanks For Your Vote:
A Special thanks to all those who voted for us in the 2nd Annual Radio Crystal
Blue Airplay Vote; we finished 7th in the overall voting out of 130 bands who
participated…Not too shabby!
The Howlin Thurstons will be on spring break for the next few weeks. It's that
time of year again where the Howlin' Thurstons put away the guitars and stop
yelling at each other long enough to take that much needed sabbatical. DJ's
European Vacation where he'll try to outdo his Idol, Chevy Chase; Peter’s on an
adventure-cruise to the Mexican Ruins (They may not be ruined now, but just wait
till he gets done with them); And Drummer Dave will be on a sacred quest to find
and ingest all the Irish whiskey in New Orleans. It's a dirty job but somebody
got to do it. We’re not exactly sure what Kevin will be doing, but we know it
will involve beer.
Not to worry!

intense guitar drive and a sandpaper edge" --Phil Dirt, Reverb Central
