Has anyone tried that? Ac. strings are designed for a big tone and
they are heavier than elect. The G is usually wound also. Just a
what-if question. Someone must have tried it.

Acoustic strings are brass, and don't have the magnetic response of
steel/nickel strings. However, if your guitar pickups have adjustible pole
pieces, you can compensate. I've tried this with a DeArmond T400 and a '65
Kay w/P90s. Sound is more "brassy" than standard electric. Sort of
interesting, but I prefer my steel flatwounds.
